NVIDIA GEFORCE DRIVERS

After releasing the Nvidia GeForce Studio and Game Ready driver version 536.99 just two days ago, Nvidia has now released a hotfix for their line of GPUs. You can now download and install the GeForce Hotfix driver 537.09.

A hotfix is released as an emergency update which usually fixes critical issues or updates security patches. In their statement, Nvidia emphasizes that hotfixes allow them to roll out the updates as they are ready, without having to wait for the next scheduled update, while the latest features and updates are ready.

This hotfix can be applied to both Game Ready and Studio drivers. It only caters to a single fix in the gaming title “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart” and addresses performance fluctuations.

Fixes in GeForce Hotfix driver 537.09

This driver release only addresses a single issue.

It fixes the performance fluctuations that occur due to issues between DirectStorage and some in-game settings in the game “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.”

With that, Nvidia did not list any known issues. However, the known issues of the last released driver (536.99) still probably stand.

How to rollback/downgrade Nvidia drivers

If you have not removed the old Nvidia drivers manually and want to downgrade or roll back to the older version of the driver, you can easily do it using the Device Manager. Just follow the steps below to rollback NVIDIA drivers:

  1. Press the Windows Key + R shortcut keys to open the Run Command box.

  2. Type in “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter to open the Device Manager.

  3. Click “Display Adapters” to expand it.

Please note that if there is no old driver available in the Windows cache, the “Roll Back Driver” button will be greyed out. Also, Windows only stores one previous version of a driver, so you can only roll back to the one installed before the latest update.
