Hi Lyn, I’m not sure about the case but I suspect Viber could have become her default calling app. That’s why she would have called through Viber..

My friend and I, who live 200 miles apart, use Whatsap for messaging and photos.
WE both have smart phones, hers is a Samsung Galaxy mine is an iPhone.
Four days ago I sent her a photo. Her reply came back as a video call which I couldn’t answer but, it was a viber call on her phone. She thought she had somehow got mixed up in my Whatsap family group but although I knew this wasn’t the case I didn’t know what had happened. This mix up has happened a couple of times since. Please can someone solve the mystery.
I have not got the viber app. Can it be an outside influence?
I look forward to any replies.

– Viber has video and voice calling options
What about whatsapp, does it not have it as well?
– High bandwith while calling from vicer, are you serious?

You’re right, Viber works on iphone and ipad across all platforms.
I’ve tried using a messed up What’s app on my iPad and it’s very poor.
For me that’s 3 points on its own!

I Viber should score 95% because its operation is not tied to your phone’s WIFI being on and active like Whatsapp’s. They are completely independent of each other. If your phone is switched off, you can still use Viber Desktop to chat and call. That is brilliant! Whatsapp scores 0% here!

I don’t know why, but from what I’ve heard, a lot of people say Viber is for freshies (lmao)

I think they’re both good.

Also, Viber has social groups, which should have been a plus point.

So easier to use on cross platforms. That 2 points on its own. Messages go to both items simultaneously. Another point.
If you take a photo on your iPad, and wish to send it to someone, you have to copy it to you phone, then send it via what’s app..
The iPad what’s App version of is rubbish!!
I don’t think you looked at this the way you should have, so you loose 4 points!
